New Graphic Card Not Working?
Have you installed a new graphics card to find out, it needs power to it... 4pin, 6pin, 8pin, 2 x 6pin plugs and they are not on your power supply? Try an adapter from your 4pin molex power plug... still not working? It very well may be the adapter you purchased. In some cases the 3rd positive wire, ( middle pin on 6 pin plug, not black...) is not needed. A 5 wire 6pin PCI-E will work... a 6 wire 6pin PCI-E plug will also work... but when the 3rd positive is needed the 5 wire adapter will not work. The 5 wire adapter is limited in use... The 6 wire or 6+2 wire will work even if only 2 positive wires are needed. In some cases the Graphics card may need an 8pin power plug or in my case 2 x 6 pin plugs. You cant go wrong with the 6 wire or 6 + 2 wire adapters... PS Graphic card issues are not always power adapter related. Below you will see 3 different adapters, 5 wire 6pin, 6 wire 6pin, and 6pin + 2pin (8pin)
